Often, when I see corrections and clarifications in Newspapers and magazines I wonder how they get away with having a staid single paragraph apologies buried on the classified page.

When I get slandered, I’m going to demand the erring publication admits their error and apologises in a story taking up the same space, word count and location as the original.

With a headline and financial recompense to match.

For me, of course, that’s likely to be on the In Memoriam page. And the cost of the notice refunded to whomever published it in the first place.
